Global Money Week

Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual global awareness-raising campaign on the importance of ensuring that young people, from an early age, are financially aware, and are gradually acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours necessary to make sound financial decisions and ultimately achieve financial well-being and financial resilience.

The GMW2024 theme, “Think before you follow, wise money tomorrow”, highlights the need for critical thinking in financial decision-making, especially for youth navigating digital finance. It addresses challenges posed by “finfluencers,” AI-driven financial services, and biases like herd mentality. The campaign focuses on building financial literacy, emotional awareness, and the ability to assess information critically, enabling young people to make informed and smarter financial choices.

The 13th edition of GMW will take place from 17-23 March 2025. Visit https://www.globalmoneyweek.org to find out more.  In addition, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is Ireland’s GMW coordinator and is collaborating with key stakeholders for GMW including:

  • Broker’s Ireland

  • Department of Finance
