Emer Kirk appointed new CEO

FPSB Ireland is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Emer Kirk to the role of Chief Executive Officer.

Emer has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including in-depth experience of financial planning.  As well as being a CFP professional, Emer is an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute (Chartered Tax Adviser) and has a degree in actuarial mathematics and accounting.  Emer is a past Chair of LIA Dublin Region, a Founder and past Chair of the Connect Women in Pensions Network, and a past Chair of Young IBA.

Speaking about Emer’s appointment, Bill Hannan, Chairman of the Board said:

FBSB Ireland is delighted to have appointed someone of Emer’s calibre to succeed Paul Grimes as its Chief Executive Officer. We are looking forward to working with Emer in further developing the role of FPSB Ireland as the professional association for financial planners in Ireland.

In accepting her appointment, Emer said:

Over the course of my career I have seen how the financial planning process has changed lives: empowering clients to achieve financial freedom, and financial advisors to professionalise their client offering, operating to internationally recognised standards. Central to this has been FPSB Ireland’s work to have the CFP® qualification recognised as the standard-bearer for financial planning professionals and I am delighted to lead the organisation in the next phase of its growth
