Webinar 2: 23rd April, 8am. Discover how AI is reshaping the financial advice landscape and why the most meaningful elements of financial planning remain firmly human. This session with Dr. Paul Moran, CFP equips financial planners with clear insights into the strengths and limits of AI, the behavioural realities that influence client decision‑making, and the enduring value of goals‑based planning.
Webinar 3: 18th June, 8am. This session in partnership with the Compliance Institute and presented by Paul Coady will bring the FPSB Ireland Professional Code and Code of Ethics & Professional Responsibility to life, exploring how ethical principles shape real-world client advice. It will also highlight key developments in the Consumer Protection Code (CPC) 2025 and their practical implications for CFP® professionals.
Webinars 4: 17th September, 9am. This webinar with Colin Slabach, CFP will explore sustainable withdrawal strategies and how to manage longevity and sequence of returns risk. He will also look at retirement planning in an Irish context, drawing on how the US market has evolved over the past 20 years to better engage consumers in investing for retirement, both personally and through pensions.
Webinars 5-6: 17th September, 22nd October and 10th December, 9am. Speakers and topics for both sessions will be announced over the summer.

Paul McCarville is a Chartered Accountant and QFA with almost 40 years’ senior experience in asset management. He has held senior leadership roles with Ulster Bank Investment Managers, New Ireland Investment Managers, and as a founding principal and Director of Setanta Asset Management, where he led client services and marketing and played a key role in product development and international growth.
In 1987, he co-founded Clarus Investment Solutions, where he provides investment consulting services with particular expertise in investment processes and investor risk profiling. He has published widely, spoken at major industry conferences, and is also a Director of Verus Advisory Limited, specialising in fiduciary management oversight.

Colin Slabach, Ph.D., CFP, is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University, where he teaches and develops programs in financial planning. He previously served as Professor of Retirement at The American College of Financial Services and as Assistant Director at the Centre for Retirement Income.
With extensive experience in financial education and program development, Slabach has played a key role in advancing financial planning curricula both in the United States and abroad. He is deeply committed to fostering diversity in the profession and preparing the next generation of financial planners to engage with clients in a global, cross-cultural context.
In addition to his academic work, Slabach serves on the advisory board of the fintech company Tolerisk, on the Texas Tech University Alumni Advisory Board and is a board director at FPSB Ltd.
